Seascape Lace Knit Blanket Pattern

This Seascape Lace Knit Blanket Pattern has a gorgeous combo of blues and browns that looks just like a day at the seaside. The variegated jumbo yarn is super soft and cuddly, making this a cozy, touchable blanket knitting pattern you'll want to snuggle with on the couch for hours. The simple lace knitting pattern also adds just the right amount of texture and delicacy to the thick yarn used in this free knitting pattern. It will look gorgeous draped over the back of a sofa or chair and be oh-so-snuggly wrapped around your shoulders. And if the variegated yarn isn't for you, just substitute a solid color jumbo yarn of your choice.

This pattern calls for 3 skeins of Caron Jumbo in Country Basket. I find this yarn to have 595 yards each. Other Caron Jumbo skeins have 659 yards, which is mentioned in another comment. This is confusing. I want to order the correct amount of yarn and wondered if you have any ideas of what is the correct yardage to calculate. Thank you.

The caron jumbo yarn in this color has 595 yards per skein.

I have been having a heck of time trying to follow this pattern. I am OK until I get to row 7 of the pattern and then I lose the sequence of the lace effect. It just doesn't make any sense to me! When It says to (K2tog, yo) 4 times, the holes don't seem to line up the way that I think they should. Is there a picture anywhere of the actual lace pattern opened up so I can see what the pattern is suppose to look like? Can anyone help me?

The holes in the lace do not "line up" and they are not supposed to, since you have a different number of knit stitches at the beginning of each row, the holes run on an angle. This pattern is called CARON CRYSTAL LACE KNIT BLANKET on the yarnspirations website, there are a few more pictures there, but they've been taken at a distance, so you may be able to enlarge them to get a better look.

Is this pattern available as a PDF?

There is a PDF at the Yarnspirations website.

First of all, this blanket is beautiful !! Thank you for sharing. I'm in the process of knitting this, and I have a couple questions....about #11, should that be row 17? or is there no purl row between 15th and 16th row? also, after I finish the pattern, do I go straight into the set again? or do I knit five rows between the set?

row 11 should be row 7, you will not repeat the set up rows between sets, you will be repeating only the pattern rows until you are instructed to repeat the garter stitch border to finish. The 5 knit rows will occur at the beginning and the end of the blanket.

It's a 16 row pattern with an error in the instructions on the 16th row, it should be repeat row 2, since it is a wrong side row, otherwise you will be turning the pattern around and working the next sequence on the wrongside. I reported the error several years ago, but I find today that the pattern still has not been corrected on the website. I will report it again. Happy knitting!

Very beautiful afghan. Since the info said this was a pattern by Caron, I went to their website to check it out to see if a free pdf version was available. I did not find this particular pattern shown on their site, but they do have a lot of free patterns available. I love the coloring and the open weave stitching on this one.

There actually is a free pdf on their website, the pattern is actually called Caron Crystal lace Knit Blanket, you may not have found it since this website frequently changes the names of patterns when they publish the links.

This is a lovely pattern. It is good to make now that the weather is getting colder. It will keep you warm while you are knitting it. Personally I would use a solid color yarn to show off the lace pattern, which is what I will use. The pattern is simple enough that once doing it, you will be knitting along with the rhythm of it and you will be finished in no time. Thank you for the pattern.

This is a pretty lace blanket pattern. The Caron Seascape color yarn is still available so you could get the same effect as in the photo. The pattern itself is not difficult, just have to keep track of where you are in it. I find a row counter helps. And yes, theres an app for that!

how any TOTAL yards are needed? I see this particular yarn available in different yardage lengths. and if it is worsted are they doubling it up perhaps? thanks

The yarn is NOT doubled, the yarn is a worsted and it is 659 yards and according to yarnspirations you need 3 to complete so that is 1977 yards to complete the project.

The yarn is called Jumbo it is not a jumbo weight yarn, it's worsted weight yarn. I use it all the time.

This is NOT jumbo weight yarn (7)!! It is worsted weight in a 659 yard skein.

Thanks for your reply. 2 questions What length should the circular needle be? Is the 6mm size correct? (The suggested size on the label says 5mm.)

The 6mm size is correct, I would use a long one, the yarn is a heavy worsted closer to aran. Hope this helps.
