whoops sorry ... in Row 10 (and all right-side rows) the extra K1 comes BEFORE the 13 pattern repeats, not after them.

Beautiful pattern. Correction is Row 9 seed stitch 6, then follow Row 1 of pattern (wrong side, all purls) to last 7 stitches, purl 1, seed stitch 6. Row 10 seed stitch 6, PM (place marker), then follow Row 2 of pattern (right side, 13 repeats of 11-stitch pattern, PM between each repeat), PM, K1, PM, seed stitch 6.

I, too, had an issue at the beginning of this project, but fixed it. The blanket is now 3/4 complete and is very nice! I would definitely make it again. Am using Universal Yarns "Uptown Worsted" acrylic in turquoise. I love this yarn, too.

Help! Please would someone advise me. There is an extra stich at the end of row 2, should I just knit it thus finishing with 2 knit stiches orought the knit stich be done at beginning of row after the border?

Hey Red Heart. You need to fix this problem. The pattern is a 11 + 1. This has been pointed out many times, but still the error exists. Nice pattern, but people will get frustrated if there is an error. Especially for the newbies.

There is no error in the pattern as written, the errors are occurring on the part of the knitters who are not able to follow an intermediate pattern. The cast on is 156 stitches, seed stitch 6, knit 1, work lace repeat 13 times across the row, seed stitch 6 gives a total of 156 stitches as specified with the cast on. I won't even go into the stupidity of writing a comment addressed to a major yarn company on a website that simply hosts patterns, that the company will never see. To complete an intermediate pattern, the knitter must have a decent amount of both knitting and pattern reading experience, so this project definitely is NOT newbie friendly.

The pattern repeat is 11 + 1. I have made this blanket. Very cute. Hey Red heart, make the correction for the newbie knitters who don't catch the mistake.

There is an error in the pattern! The actual pattern is 11 std + 1. It's lovely when worked up. I made it on bigger needles and didn't have any problems with it once I figured out their error.

I am having a problem with this pattern. the hole(yo) are way too big.. I notice other people having problems.. do I need to go to a smaller needle?? the work looks too sloppy, and not at all like the pic..

I would suggest you check your gauge. If your gauge does not match up, you probably do need to use a different size needle. It is not uncommon for different knitters to use different size needles to create the same size stitches. Editors of AllFreeKnitting.com

I've just started this pattern and have encountered a problem with 2 extra stitches at end of Row 1 of the Lace work. With the repeat being 11 stitches for this row? on 156 total stitches, 14 repeats gives me 154 and therefore my 2 left over. I have traced and retraced my work and found no error in stitches, but obviously I'm doing something wrong. Given the mentioning of other pattern errors, I'm wondering if I need to give up and find another blanket pattern but I hope those working on this can give me some advice on how to fix it and continue or will it work itself out when I continue with other rows? Thank you

I made a swatch of this blanket. The multiple is 11 plus 1. All knit rows of pattern begin with K1, *k 2tog, etc. . and ending with k1*. Row 9 is Row 2 of the pattern. This pattern is lovely, and is not at all complicated, and I agree that markers help in keeping track of pattern repeats.

The afghan is lovely, but the instructions are WRONG! The Ivy Lace Pattern is a multiple of 11 stitches + 1 st. I used a size 8 needle and it worker up quickly.

The instructions for row 9 are very confusing because if one uses the pattern there will be too many purl stitches. It also seems that there is a knit stitch left out for each pattern repeat for each row of the seed stitch pattern. I would suggest that the editor or proof reader do the job before having a liquid lunch.

I wondered the same thing. I looked up the pattern on the Red heart website and it is actually called: Lace chevrons baby blanket, pattern # LW4081 and it is a 9mm needle. The confusion with the needles is happening more and more often on here.

This should be a US9 or US8 per yarn label. Also the multiples is 11 +1 with the 1st being the 1st st in each pattern row after the border sts. The number of Ivy Lace pattern repeats is 13 and not 11 across the row. The number on pattern repeats for the length of the blanket is 8 times if you want it to come out 36" x 36". I'm not sure if it's the proof reader or the pattern writer or??? but this is too many errors for a pattern that comes from a Company as big as Red Heart.

Confusing pattern. Calls for needle size 9 or 5.5mm, but then under materials it call for size 9mm (US 13). Maybe they meant size 9 since it uses baby yarn. Size 13 seems too large. Guess I'll have to double check the gauge.
