Yarn Weight(4) Medium Weight/Worsted Weight and Aran (16-20 stitches to 4 inches)

Gauge8 sts = 4” [10 cm]; 8 rows = 4” [10 cm] in Reverse Stockinette stitch using larger needles. CHECK YOUR GAUGE. Use any size needles to obtain the gauge.

  • RED HEART® Boutique Unforgettable: 4 (5, 6, 7, 8, 8, 9) balls 3956 Polo
  • Susan Bates® Knitting Needles: 8mm [US 11] and 10mm [US 15]
  • Yarn needle

Back and Front (both worked same until bind off)

With smaller needles, cast on 70 (78, 86, 94, 102, 110, 118) sts.
Rows 1-7: [K1, p1] to end of row.
Change to larger needles and work in Rev St st until piece measures 20 (20, 22, 22, 24, 24, 26)” [51 (51, 56, 56, 61, 61, 66) cm] from beginning when laid flat.
Bind off using Super Stretchy Bind Off for Front and regular bind off for Back.

Finishing

Measure and mark center 9” [23 cm] on Back piece. Sew shoulders, leaving center 9” unsewn for neck.
Measure and mark 8 (8, 9, 9, 10, 10, 11)” [20.5 (20.5, 23, 23, 25.5, 25.5, 28) cm] from shoulder edge along sides for armholes. Sew remaining 12 (12, 13, 13, 14, 14, 15)” [30.5 (30.5, 33, 33, 35.5, 35.5, 38) cm] of sides closed. Weave in ends.

Rev St st (Reverse Stockinette St)
Knit one row, purl one row, the same as Stockinette St. But use the purl side as the right side of the garment.
