Instructions

Note: Bag is made in one piece.

Bag

Cast on 41 stitches (sts).
1st row: [Right side (RS)]. Knit 1 (K1). *Slip next stitch purl-wise with yarn at back of work (Sl1P). K1. Repeat (rep) from * to end of row.
2nd row: Purl.
These 2 rows form Slip Stitch pattern (pat). Continue (cont) in pat until work from beginning (beg) measures 1½" [4 cm], ending on a RS row.

Handle Opening

Handle Opening: **Next row: (WS). Purl 13 sts (P13). Cast off 15 sts. P13.
Next row: K1. (Sl1P. K1) 6 times. Cast on 15 sts. K1 (Sl1P. K1) 6 times.**
Beg with a WS row, cont in pat until work from beg measures 4½" [11.5 cm], ending on a RS row.
Rep Handle Opening from ** to **.
Beg with a WS row, cont in pat until work from beg measures 25½" [65 cm], ending on a RS row.
Rep Handle Opening from ** to **.
Beg with a WS row, cont in pat until work from beg measures 28½" [72.5 cm], ending on a RS row.
Rep Handle Opening from ** to **.
Beg with a WS row, cont in pat until work from beg measures 30" [76 cm], ending on a RS row. Cast off.

Finishing

Fold Bag in half with cast on and cast off edges aligned and WS facing each other. Sew side seams. Fold top edge to inside of Bag aligning Handle Openings. Sew top edge to inside of Bag. Whip-stitch around each Handle Opening.
