Yarn Weight(4) Medium Weight/Worsted Weight and Aran (16-20 stitches to 4 inches)

Gauge1 stitches, 2 rows, 3 inches. stockinette stitch

Materials:

  • Simply Soft
    • Contrast A: Grey Heather (141 g/5. oz;228 m/250 yds) - 2 balls
    • Contrast B: Charcoal Heather (170 g/6. oz;288 m/315 yds)  - 2 balls
    • Contrast C: Black (170 g/6. oz;288 m/315 yds) - 2 balls
  • One pair of size U.S. 8 (5mm) knitting needles or size needed to obtain gauge
  • Yarn needle

GAUGE: 17 sts and 32 rows = 4”/10 cm in garter stitch

Measurements: Approximately 20”/51cm wide x 75”/190.5 cm long

Abbreviations:
K = knit
P = purl
P2tog = purl two stitches together
yo = yarn over the needle (makes 1 extra stitch)

Instructions:
Almost Garter Stitch (Almost Garter st):
Row 1 (RS):  Knit
Row 2: Knit.
Row 3: Knit.
Row 4: Purl.
Rep Rows 1-4 for Almost Garter st.

 

Honeycomb Lace (multiple of 2 sts + 3):
Note: 
Alternate colors every 4 rows and carry yarn up side of wrap.
Row 1 (RS): Knit.
Row 2: Knit.
Row 3: K1, p1, *yo, p2tog, rep from * to last st, k1.
Row 4: Knit.
Rep Rows 1-4 for Honeycomb Lace pat.

 

WRAP
Using A, CO 75. Work in Garter st for 1½”, ending with a WS row.
Change to B and work Almost Garter st for 14” ending with a WS row.
Change to A and work in Honeycomb Lace pat alternating 4 rows each of A, C and B for approx. 14”, ending with last row of B stripe on WS row.
Change to A and work 14” Almost Garter st for 14”, ending with a WS row.
Change to C and work in Honeycomb Lace pat alternating 4 rows each of C, B and A for approx 14”, ending with last row of A stripe on WS row.
Change to C and work Almost Garter st for 14”, ending with a WS row.
Change to A and work in Garter st for 1½”.
