- Needles: U.S. #8
Gauge:
With #8 needle and Strata in Fan St.; 21sts = 4”.
Stitches used:
Fan St.:
Row 1: *K2-tog/3x, (Yo,K1)6x, K2-tog/3x*.
Rep *to*.
Row 2,4: Purl across the row.
Row 3,5: Knit across the row.
Row 6: Knit across the row.
SCARF
With #8 needle and Strata, Cast on 72sts. *Work in Fan St. for 3 complete repeats of Fan St. pattern.
Change to Palomino and Purl the first RS row as follows:
Fold tail over to overlap 3sts. Put needle into Strata stitch and Purl, catching thread at top of
Palomino box as yarn. Purl across the row. Turn work and knit the row catching threads at to of box to use as stitch. Continue until 3sts remain. Cut tail leaving enough to overlap last 3sts.
Overlap stitches and purl balance of row.*
Change to new color of Strata work from *to* in pattern. Continue in this manner changing colors after 2 rows of Palomino have been worked until all colors of Strata have been worked. Bind off in pattern.
