Knitting Needle Size3 or 3.25 mm

Yarn Weight(0) Lace (33-40 stitches to 4 inches). Includes crochet thread.

Gauge1 stitches, 2 rows, 3 inches. stockinette stitch

  • Kidsilk Haze Glamour 9 x 25gm (photographed in Smoke 285)
  • 1 pair 3 1/4 mm (no 10) (US 3) needles

 

Measurements:

Completed scarf meas 43 cm (17 in) by approx 200 cm (79 in).

 

Abbreviations:

P: purl

K: knit

yrn: yarn 'round needle/yarn over

patt: pattern

cont: continue

 

Gauge: 32 sts and 32 rows to 10 cm measured over patt using 3 1/4mm (US 3) needles.

 

Instructions

 

SCARF

Using 3 1/4 mm (US 3) needles, cast on 110 sts.

Row 1 (RS): P2, * K2, P2, rep from * to end.

Row 2: K2, * P1, yrn, P1, K2, rep from * to end.

Row 3: P2, * K3, P2, rep from * to end.

Row 4: K2, * P3, K2, rep from * to end.

Row 5: P2, * K3, pass first of these knit sts over the last 2, P2, rep from * to end.

Rows 2 to 5 form patt.

Cont in patt until scarf measures approx 200 cm, ending with patt row 5 and with WS facing for next row.

Cast off in rib as given for row 1.
