Knitting Needle Size11 or 8 mm, Circular Knitting Needles

Yarn Weight(6) Super Bulky/Super Chunky (4-11 stitches for 4 inches)

Gauge1 stitches, 2 rows, 3 inches. stockinette stitch

Materials:

  • Bernat® Baby Blanket™ (10.5 oz/300 g; 220 yds/201 m) Lemon Lime (04223) - 2 balls or 390 yds/355 m
  • Size U.S. 11 (8 mm) circular knitting needle 32” [80 cm] long or size needed to obtain gauge.

 

Measurements: Approx 38” [96.5 cm] square.

 

Abbreviations:

Approx = Approximately

Beg = Begin(ning)

Cont = Continue(ing)

K = Knit

P = Purl

Pat = Pattern

Rep = Repeat

RS = Right side

St(s) = Stitch(es)

WS = Wrong side

 

Gauge: 8 sts and 13 rows = 4” [10 cm] in stocking st.

 

Instructions

Cast on 75 sts. Do not join. Working back and forth across needle in rows, proceed as follows.

Knit 3 rows noting 1st row is WS.

Proceed in Basketweave St Pat as follows:

1st row: (RS). Knit.

2nd row: K8. *P3. K5. Rep from * to last 3 sts. K3.

3rd row: K3. P5. *K3. P5. Rep from * to last 3 sts. K3.

4th row: As 2nd row.

5th row: Knit.

6th row: K4. P3. *K5. P3. Rep from * to last 4 sts. K4.

7th row: K3. P1. K3. *P5. K3. Rep from * to last 4 sts. P1. K3.

8th row: As 6th row.

These 8 rows form Basketweave St Pat.

Cont in pat until work from beg measures approx 37” [94 cm], ending on a 1st or 5th row of pat.

Knit 2 rows.

Cast off (WS).
