Materials:

  • Patons Canadiana (100 g/3.5 oz) or Patons Decor (100 g/3.5 oz):
    • Main color (MC) (White) 7 balls
    • Contrast A (Lt Blue) 1 ball
    • Contrast B (Dk Blue) 3 balls
  • Size 4.5 mm (U.S. 7) circular knitting needle 36 ins [90 cm] long or size needed to obtain tension

 

Gauge: 20 sts and 26 rows = 4 ins [10 cm] with 4.5 mm needles in stocking st.

 

Measurement: Approx 47 x 57½ ins [117 x 146 cm

 

INSTRUCTIONS

With MC cast on 220 sts. Do not join. Working back and forth across needle, work in garter st (knit every row) for 1½ ins [4 cm], noting that first row is WS and ending with RS facing for next row. With MC, work 22 rows in stocking st. Cont in stocking st, working color changes as follows:

With MC, work 4 rows.
With B, work 2 rows.
With MC, work 2 rows.
With B, work 2 rows.
With MC, work 2 rows.
With B, work 16 rows.
With MC, work 2 rows.
With B, work 2 rows.
With MC, work 2 rows.

With MC, work 4 rows.
With A, work 2 rows.***

Rep from ** to ** twice more, then from ** to *** once more.
With MC, work 22 rows in stocking st.
With MC, proceed in garter st for 1½ ins [4 cm] ending with WS facing for next row. Cast off knitways (WS).


Side edging
With RS of work facing and MC pick up and knit 271 sts along each side edge.
Work 1½ ins [4 cm] in garter st, ending with WS facing for next row. Cast off knitways (WS).
