Materials:

  • U.S. size 6 knitting needles (4mm)
  • Worsted weight yarn
  • Yarn needle

Gauge is not important in this design.

Instructions:

1. Cast on 15 stitches.
2. Cast off. (You will have a strip which measures approx. 2 ½ inches by ½ inch.)
3. Thread the yarn end from the cast off into a yarn needle and place it on your work surface.
4. Beginning at the opposite end, roll the knitted strip into a tight roll.
5. Pick up the yarn needle, and pass through the roll, coming out directly across on the
other side. Move over about ¼ inch, and pass the needle all the way through again.
Repeat several times, then pass the needle through to the center of the roll bringing the yarn through. Tie the 2
yarn ends into a square knot, and cut off the yarn end used to connect the roll. The other end can be used to sew the
button onto your finished garment.

END OF PATTERN.
