Knitting Needle Size9 or 5.5 mm, 10 or 6 mm, Circular Knitting Needles

Yarn Weight(3) Light/DK (21-24 stitches to 4 inches)

Materials:

  • Yarn: R FILATURA DI CROSA Zara, cognac nr 455: 300 g
  • Needles: 5.5 mm [US 9] and 6 mm [US 10] long (80 cm) circular ndls, or size needed to obtain correct gauge.


Size:
90-100 x 35 cm [35-3/8 - 39-3/8 x13.75”]


Gauge:
17 sts x 24 rows = 10 x 10 cm in pattern on larger ndls

 

SCARF
Row 1: K.
Row 2: P 1, k 1, repeat across row. Repeat these 2 rows.

Dec tips: Sl 1 k st and 1 p st, k 1, pass the slipped sts over. This decs 2 sts. Do this on Row 1 of Pattern. CO 172 sts on larger ndls. Join and pl a marker at the join. Knit in Pattern until piece measures 10 cm.

Dec 1: k 1, dec 2 sts (see dec tips) * k 41, dec 2 sts *, repeat from *–* 2 times, k to end of row = 166 sts. Continue until piece measures 14 cm.
Dec 2: K 3, dec 2 sts, k 29, dec 2 sts, k 11, dec 2 sts, k 29, dec 2 sts, k to end of row = 158 sts.


Change to smaller ndls and knit until piece measures 18.5 cm.
Turn work with wrong side out and continue in Pattern, so that k is over p and p is over k.
Continue until piece measures 35 cm, bind off.
Fold piece in half where it was turned.
