Yarn Weight(4) Medium Weight/Worsted Weight and Aran (16-20 stitches to 4 inches)

Gauge1 stitches, 2 rows, 3 inches. stockinette stitch

Materials:

  • RED HEART® Boutique Treasure™ 1930 Horizon - 2 balls
  • Susan Bates® Circular knitting needles: 5.5mm [US 9], 32” (81.28 cm) long
  • Stitch marker
  • Yarn needle

 

Measurements:  Scarf measures 48” (121.92 cm) in circumference and is 8” (20.32 cm) high.

 

Abbreviations:

K = knit

mm = millimeters

P = Purl

st(s) = stitch(es)

* or ** = repeat whatever follows the * or ** as indicated.

 

Gauge: 16 sts = 4” [10 cm]; 21 rows = 4” [10 cm] in pattern in the round. CHECK YOUR GAUGE. Use any size needles to obtain the gauge.

 

Instructions

 

DOUBLE BROKEN RIB PATTERN

Rounds 1 and 2: Knit.

Rounds 3 and 4: * K2, p2; repeat from * around.

Repeat rounds 1-4 for pattern.

 

SCARF

Cast on 200 sts. Join, being careful that sts are not twisted, and begin working in the round. Place marker for beginning of round. Work in Double Broken Rib Pattern until piece measures 8” (20.32 cm). Bind off on round 2 of pattern.

 

FINISHING

With yarn needle, weave in all ends.
