Knitting Needle Size11 or 8 mm

Yarn Weight(5) Bulky/Chunky (12-15 stitches for 4 inches)

MATERIALS

  • RED HEART® Stellar™: 2 balls of 9941 Infinity
  • Susan Bates® Knitting Needles: 8 mm [US 11]
  • Yarn needle


GAUGE

12½ sts = 4” (10 cm); 12 rows = 4” (10 cm) in pattern.
CHECK YOUR GAUGE. Use any size needles to obtain the gauge.

 

INTRUCTIONS

Finished Size: 5” (12.5 cm) wide x 84” (213 cm) long, before finishing

Note: Before you begin, look at each end of yarn to compare colors. In order to make the transition between one ball and the next less obvious, decide whether to begin your project with the outer end, or the center-pull end of each ball.


COWL
Cast on 16 sts.
Row 1 (Right side): (k2, p2) across.
Repeat Row 1 for pattern until piece measures approximately 84” (213 cm) from cast on edge or to desired length.
Bind off all sts loosely in pattern, leaving a long end for sewing.

FINISHING
Thread needle with long end. Twist bind off end of Cowl once around. Place wrong sides of ends together; sew seam.
