Instructions

Cowl is worked in the round on circular needle, beginning at the bottom edge and worked up to neck edge.

Pattern Stitch

Ridge Stitch
Rounds 1-5: Knit.
Round 6: Purl.
Repeat Rounds 1-6 for Ridge st.

Cowl

Cast on 154 (168, 182, 196) sts. Join to work in rounds, taking care not to twist sts. Place marker for beginning of round.

Purl 1 round. Knit 1 round. Purl 1 round.

Beginning with Round 1, work in Ridge st until piece measures 12½” [31.5 cm] from beginning, end with Round 4.
Decrease Round: K10 (24, 2, 16), [k2tog, k4 (4, 5, 5)] 36 times – 118 (132, 146, 160) sts remain.

Purl 1 round. Knit 1 round. Purl 1 round.

Bind off knitwise.

Finishing

Weave in ends.
