Light as a Feather Cowl

The Light as a Feather Cowl is an ideal free knitting pattern for spring. This knitted cowl pattern is light and floaty enough to carry in your bag, but the beautifully soft yarn is made with alpaca which makes it surprisingly warm. Perfect for in-between weather days! This lace knit cowl is the perfect day-to-evening accessory for both spring and summer. The simple feather and fan edging leads on to a stocking stitch body interspersed with myrtle leaf motifs. You can leave this lovely cowl around your neck or draw it up over your head for extra warmth as the evening gets cooler.

NotesNOTE: You may wish to place stitch markers between each 18 st pattern repeat. The easiest way is to place a stitch marker every 18 sts when casting on. This will also make it easier for you to count stitches when casting on. It’s not uncommon, when knitting stocking stitch in a lace-weight yarn, to find your stitches look a little uneven. Some of this will be resolved by blocking but it’s worth spending a little time before you block checking for any uneven sections and gently adjusting the stitches with the point of a needle.
