Materials:

  • Caron® Simply Soft® (6 oz/170.1 g; 315 yds/288 m)
    • Harvest Red (39763)
      or Off White (39702)
      or Burgundy (39762) 1 ball
      Note: 1 ball will make approx 8 Jar Lid Covers.
  • Size U.S. 6 (4 mm) knitting needles or size needed to obtain gauge.
  • Approx 24" [61 cm] of ¼" [.5 cm] wide satin ribbon per jar.

 

 

GAUGE
20 sts and 26 rows = 4" [10 cm] in stocking st.

 

 

MEASUREMENT
Approx 5½" [14 cm] diameter measured flat.

3rd row: K3. P1. K2. yo. K2tog. K6. Turn. Leave rem sts unworked.
4th row: Sl1P. K7. yo. K2tog. K1. (yo) twice. K2tog. K1.
5th row: K3. P1. K3. yo. K2tog. K5. Turn. Leave rem sts unworked.
6th row: Sl1P. K6. yo. K2tog. K2. (yo) twice. K2tog. K1.
7th row: K3. P1. K4. yo. K2tog. K4. Turn. Leave rem sts unworked.
8th row: Sl1P. K5. yo. K2tog. K3. (yo) twice. K2tog. K1.
9th row: K3. P1. K5. yo. K2tog. K3. Turn. Leave rem sts unworked.
10th row: Sl1P. K4. yo. K2tog. K7.
11th row: Cast off 4 sts (1 st rem on needle after cast off). K4. yo. K2tog. K7. 14 sts.
Rep 2nd to 11th rows 10 times more, then 1st to 10th rows once. Cast off.


FINISHING

Sew cast on and cast off edges tog.
Thread ribbon through “yo” eyelets.
Place cover over lid. Tie ribbon in a bow to secure cover.
