CO 56 (62, 68) sts and work in garter st (k every row) for 6 rows (3 ridges), ending with a WS row.

Shoulder Shaping

BO 16 (18, 20) sts at the beg of next 2 rows.

Place remaining 24 (26, 28) sts on holder for back neck.

Neck Shaping

Beg with a k row, change to St st. Inc 1 st at both sides of the next and every following alternate row until there are 48 (52, 54) sts.

Hood

With RS facing, k8 (9, 10) from holder at right front, pick up and k14 (15, 16) sts up right front neck, k24 (26, 28) sts from holder at center back, pick up and k14 (15, 16) sts down left front neck, k8 (9, 10) sts from holder at left front—68 (74, 80) sts.

Finishing

Sew seam at top of hood. Sew sleeves to body, matching center of sleeve to shoulder seam. Sew side and sleeve seams. With RS facing, work sc evenly along right front edge, around hood, and along left front edge. Position and sew zipper into place. Weave in all loose ends.
