  • Universal Yarn Infusion Handpaints (50% superwash wool, 50% acrylic; 100g/291 yds) 101 Be Strong – 2 skeins, all sizes
  • US Size 4 (3.5 mm) straight needles, set of dpns or size needed to obtain gauge
  • Tapestry ndl
  • Safety pin
  • Stitch holder
     


Gauge: 24 sts x 48 rows = 4” in Slip Stitch patt



Meausurements:

  • Finished Measurements: Chest: 20½ (22½)”, Length: 11 (12¾)”



Instructions:

Slip all stitches purlwise with yarn to the wrong side of the work.

Stitch Guide
Slip Stitch (multiple of 6 sts + 1)
Row 1 (RS): Knit.
Row 2 (WS): Purl.
Row 3: * Sl 1, p5; rep from * to last st, end sl 1.
Row 4: Sl 1, * k5, sl 1; rep from * to end.
Rows 5 & 6: Rep Rows 3 & 4.
Row 7: Knit.
Row 8: Purl.
Row 9: * P3, sl 1, p2; rep from * to last st, p1.
Row 10: K1, * k2, sl 1, k3; rep from * to end.
Rows 11 & 12: Rep Rows 9 & 10. Rep Rows 1-12 for patt.


Back
Cast on 63 (69) sts.
Row 1 (WS): Purl.
Row 2 (RS): Knit. Work 5 more rows in St st.

Establish Pattern
Row 1 (RS):
K1, work Row 1 of Slip Stitch patt to last st, k1.
Row 2 (WS): P1, work Row 2 of Slip Stitch patt to last st, p1. Cont in this manner, keeping 1 St st each edge until Back meas 7 (8)” from bottom of rolled hem, ending with WS row.

Shape Armholes
Cont in patt, bind off 6 sts at beg of next 2 rows – 51 (57) sts rem. Cont in patt until work meas 4 (4¾)” from bind-off, ending with WS row. Bind off all sts.


Front
Work as for Back to Shape Armhole section.

Separate Fronts, Shape Neck
Next row: Bind off 6 sts, work over next 25 (28) sts in patt, place next (center st) on safety pin, place rem 31 (34) sts on holder for Right Front.

Left Front
Work a WS row even in patt.
Dec row (RS): Work in patt to last 3 sts, ssk, k1 – 1 st dec’d. Work 3 rows even in patt. Rep Dec row every 4 rows, 8 (9) more times – 16 (18) sts rem. Cont even in patt, if necessary, until Left Front meas 4 (4¾)”. Bind off all sts.

Right Front
Return sts to ndl.
Next row (RS): Work even in patt.
Next row (WS): Bind off 6 sts, work in patt to end.
Dec row (RS): K1, k2tog, work in patt to end – 1 st dec’d. Work 3 rows even in patt. Rep Dec row every 4 rows, 8 (9) more times – 16 (18) sts rem. Cont even in patt, if necessary, until Left Front meas 4 (4¾)”. Bind off all sts.

Finishing
Sew Right Shoulder seam.

Neck Edging
With RS facing, pick up and knit 28 (32) sts down Left Front Neck, 1 st from safety pin in center, 28 (32) sts up Right Front Neck, and 19 (21) sts from Back Neck – 76 (86) sts.
Row 1 (WS): Purl.
Row 2 (RS): Knit to 1 st before center st, sl 2, k1, p2sso, knit to end – 2 sts dec’d.
Row 3 (WS): Purl. Rep Rows 2 & 3, 2 more times. Bind off all sts. Sew Left Shoulder Seam

Armhole Edging
With RS facing, pick up and knit 62 (70) sts evenly around Armhole Edge. Work 7 rows in St st. Bind off all sts. Sew side seams. Weave in ends and bloc
