How to Knit the Rose Stitch

The rose stitch is a great textured alternative to moss or seed stitch!

How to Knit the Rose Stitch
How to Knit the Rose Stitch

The knitted rose stitch is a simple stitch for beginners to learn, and it's good practice for learning the k1b stitch (knit one below). This technique might feel a little strange at first, especially when it comes to dropping the stitch off of your non-dominant hand needle, but never fear -- your stitch isn't going to slip off.

With the staggered bumps of the purl stitches and the stretchy k1bs that almost look like eyelets, this stitch is one-of-a-kind when it comes to texture. It could even be a fun and creative alternative to stitches like seed stitch or moss stitch! Give it a try and let us know what you make with this stitch.
