I have learnt to knit a hat for my baby, but it seems very tight on each stitch and it is hard to pull the hat bigger a bit to wear on my baby's head. Am I knitted it too tight? Should knitting stitch loose or tight?

What needles should I use for a throw -- size 8, what needle length do I use?

can someone tell me what is stocking stitch?

1 knit stitch and 1 purl stitch
