I knit the collar in the flat like an addition onto the two sweater pieces. On (size small), I cast on 8 stitches on right side row, and then 8 onto wrong side row, total 48. It was so much easier to see the pattern and cable! I just seamed up the collar as you do the sides. EASY! ( I think the collar pattern makes no sense!)

I love this pattern, however I am struggling to complete knitting it.I completed the back and front as well as the raglan armholes. I would really like step by step instructions knitting the collar. I have just started knitting recently and got excited to work on this design. I do not understand how 2 groups of 16 stitches are cast on circular needles? Is it just casting 32 stitches or is there another way? Also since there are only 32 stitches to cast on can double pointed needles be used instead of a circular needle? What does work pattern 8 mean? I also do not understand the last two paragraphs of the instructions for the collar. I would really appreciate if a video on how to work on the collar step by step can be posted. I am eager to complete the rest of the top. Thank you kindly. Shaila

I love this pattern, i just don't understand the circular needle part....never worked on them before :(

Love it! Its fashionable and appears to be a comfortable knit item to wear during the summer months. I would really like to knit this top, however, I don't understand what is meant in the instructions by "work patt 8." When reading through the instructions, I did not see any mention of a "patt 8" anywhere within them until one is supposed to begin it. There isn't even a row 8. Could someone please enlighten me on this particular area of the pattern? I have been knitting for a very long time and have never encountered this before. I would really appreciate the help as I really like this pattern and would love to make one for myself, although in a soft blue I think. Thank you in advance for your help on this. Hedggie

After looking over the pattern instructions, I figured that patt 8 refers to C4B and C4F. So the pattern should read those abbreviations instead of patt 8........ Maria H
