"This is the 8th or 9th dead link I've hit this morning trying to look at the patterns from one newsletter, i can only presume that the person putting the newsletter together does not have time to check and verify the links."
"New pattern, first time I've seen a picture of it on this site. Unfortunately, there is a problem with the link, when you click on it you receive an "oops" message, that the pattern is no longer available."
"Not sure why you would leave your comment on an entirely different pattern but anyway, the pattern actually specifies and gives step by step instructions on what the chain 5 is- (Bring st back to left-hand needle. K1) 5 times Chain 5 made. Bring st back to left-hand needle. K4tog. Rep from to last 2 (3-1) st(s). Chain 5. Bring st back to left-hand needle. K3 (4-2) tog. Fasten off."

The Woodland Ruana Wrap is the perfect fall knitting pattern, because it can be worn in a variety of different ways. A ruana is similar to a shawl, but shaped like a poncho with an opening up the front. This knit shawl is a must-knit due to its interesting design and beautiful colors. The yarn is a fusion of lovely shadings in a bulky weight that makes it quick to knit. This ruana will keep you warm and cozy in an incredibly stylish way. Plus, it's the perfect gift that needs no exact fit and complements any figure type. Whether you work this up for yourself or for a loved one, a knit ruana is a striking piece you can be proud of.
Notes1. Wrap is knit side to side in one piece.
2. First side is worked then stitches are bound-off to create front opening and cast-on again to begin second side.

I love the textured stitch used in this woodland wrap and the red heart medley also looks great. I love wraps because there are so many ways to can wear them. This is one of those patterns you can make in tons of other colors to have wrap to match whatever you are wearing.

I was wondering if you could explain the pattern. I understand the knitting part, but when you look at the drawing of the pattern, it does not make sense, to me anyways. I would really like to do this one, so would you help me, a novice, to understand what you mean should be done size wise. Pattern number is LW5287 Kate

You are knitting a long rectangle with a 5 row space in the middle where the ruana would go over your shoulders and around your neck.

This pattern is perfect for the fall. It is also easy to do. I have the perfect yarn for this and it should work up quickly. I know some beginner knitters that would love to make this as well. I also use the knit cast on for a lot of projects. I find it is a good way to cast on. Thank you.

The yarn is actually a super bulky, so the pattern works up rather quickly.

I have to confess that I'd never heard of a ruana before. I was attracted to this one by the beautiful texture and color combination. It looks soooo earthy and warm. It seems it would be very freeing in comparison to a coat or jacket. The instructions don't seem very long or involved. I'm going to give it a try!

I truly love wraps and shawls because they can be worn so many different ways depending on your mood or what you are wearing. I love the stripes and texture of this wrap and this would be a great gift for christmas and because it is just a long rectangle for the most part, it doesn't seem like it would take very long to complete. I know a few people on my list that would enjoy recieving this. Thanks again.

Such an appealing wrap - great by itself in the fall over a sweater or blouse, or in the winter as a wrap or shawl over a coat or jacket - for that matter in the spring -- a year round wrap with great class and style
