I think I have found my favorite shawl! As a "senior citizen" I get cold in the winter so I like to use shawls rather than turn up the thermostat. While she calls this a beginner shawl, it's a really good way to make a shawl without spending extra money. My colors would be more random because I am going to just use what I have on hand.

any yarn it says -- now this is a stash buster of the highest order! It takes three 100 gm balls or 720 metres of DK yarn -- in other words that basket full of multicolour yarn, all of which seem to be in multiples of three have a purpose!! For that matter, my 13-year-old who wants to knit 'something real' can do this, because it is in garter stitch. Brilliant brilliant idea.
