I'm a little confused on the instructions. On row 3 it says to work the 3rd rows of panels B and C, but the 1st row of panel A. I'm not sure if that's because rows 1 and 3 of panel A are the same or because I'm supposed to start over on that panel. So on the next row of the pattern, would I work row 2 of panel A or row 4?

You are working that row because it is the 3rd row in the panel, you'll be on row 4 after that row in that pattern.

Okay, I feel a bit dumb, now...what does T7B/T7F stand for? I would love to make this for this winter.

Hi tracygoode, don't feel dumb! According to Caron, T7B means "Slip next 4 sitches onto a cable needle and hold at back of work. K3, then (P1, K3) from cable needle." Then, T7F means "Slip next 3 stitches onto a cable needle and hold at front of work. (K3. P1), then K3 from cable needle." Thank you actually for bringing this to our attention; we'll update this pattern page as soon as we can to include all the necessary abbreviations. Happy knitting! -Editors of AllFreeKnitting

I am in the middle of doing this project, but I'm confused about the instructions. I have knitted the 8" of edging and completed the first three rows of the pattern. It says cable panels A, B and C have now in position, but I am confused for the panel sequence for the rest of the rows. So, for row 4, what is the panel sequence?

Hi Jeanne! For all even numbered rows, the cable panel sequence will be C-A-B, and for all odd numbered rows, the sequence will be B-A-C.

useless without a photo!

Hello lmckp 9606036, the photo for this pattern has been updated. Our apologies for the inconvenience. -Editors of AllFreeKnitting

The color and cables on this shawl are stunning. Adding it to my list of patterns to knit one day!
