This is such a pretty shawl! I can see how it would be so lacy looking using worsted weight yarn and big needles. I'm sure the bamboo yarn gives it a soft feel, but I think you could try it in whatever you have on hand. There are some very soft cotton and acrylic blend yarns that might work well. I bet this would look great in black on a white top or vice versa.
