"This is the 8th or 9th dead link I've hit this morning trying to look at the patterns from one newsletter, i can only presume that the person putting the newsletter together does not have time to check and verify the links."
"New pattern, first time I've seen a picture of it on this site. Unfortunately, there is a problem with the link, when you click on it you receive an "oops" message, that the pattern is no longer available."
"Not sure why you would leave your comment on an entirely different pattern but anyway, the pattern actually specifies and gives step by step instructions on what the chain 5 is- (Bring st back to left-hand needle. K1) 5 times Chain 5 made. Bring st back to left-hand needle. K4tog. Rep from to last 2 (3-1) st(s). Chain 5. Bring st back to left-hand needle. K3 (4-2) tog. Fasten off."

The poncho body is worked sideways from the center of the front, around the back, to the center of the opposite front. Then stitches are picked up along one side edge for the neckband.
Cast on 12 sts.
Row 1 (Right Side): Work Wrapped st across.
Row 2: Purl.
Repeat Rows 1-2 until piece measures 34” [86 cm] from beginning, end with a Row 2 as last row worked. Bind off.
Finishing the Neckband: with right side facing, pick up and knit 14 sts evenly spaced along one side edge. Work in Stockinette st for 4” [10 cm]. Bind off loosely using Lacey Bind Off, leaving a long tail. Using long tail, sew side edges of Neckband and half of ends of Poncho together, leaving lower 8” [20.5 cm] unsewn. Weave in ends.

I have never worked with this yarn so I do not know how bulky it is. I know the needles are big. It is an interesting pattern and not hard to do as well. I may not sew up the front, just add buttons. It would make for a warm wrap. Thank you for the pattern.

I've always known that cast off as a stretchy one because of the extra stitches worked. Can't see that it's very lacey.
