"I think this should be done on a US 6 needle, not 8. 8 maybe in Europe. And it would have been helpful if you had said that row 23 was not part of the pattern. That really threw me off for a while. The pattern for the short rows is in multiples of 8. Add 8 to each row, knit or pearl. Makes a lovely shawl."

"The pattern actually states it is a 1 month size sweater, which is odd, since nothing is sized for a 1 month old. The average newborn is 18-22" long, so if you are working to gauge, you will want to purchase a bear about the size of the newborn or the about the size of a cabbage patch doll which are about 18". When I've had this dilemna in the past I take the sweater or clothing with me to the store and try it out on the doll or bear to make sure it fits. Hope this helps, happy knitting!"

"Maybe, since you can work down instead of up, but you may find reversing the cables can mess up other features of the pattern such as shaping. The only way to know is to try it and find out."

"To make something that looks knit on both side, you could use a garter stitch, for the eggnog scarf in a child's size, pick a yarn you love and knit to the appropriate length for the child that will receive it. Your other option is to search patterns that are reversible, since they will look the same front and back. Jope this helps, happy knitting."

"Hi knitters everywhere! as promised, my second skirt design for the season is finally here! this time it's a maxi skirt, made with a mohair-looking yarn that I found and liked very much. It's super fluffy and smooth to the touch. This pattern should be a piece of cake to knit if you know how to knit, purl and make a stitch increase, because that's all there is to it. The instructions available are for sizes ranging from XS to 2XL just like my previous project. I added four loops to the waist so you can wear the skirt with a belt, a necessity for such a long and somewhat heavy knitted garment. Let me know what you think, and I hope you enjoy making this really simple yet elegant skirt."
