I see that the arm knitting technique is used in this project. Never have I ever arm knitted. I dont know why though. Maybe because it is not the traditional way to knit or maybe I just never found a pattern that I liked well enough to learn a new technique. I am going to give it serious consideration with this blanket.

I tried making this and it was a disaster. The instructions are great and easy to follow. Arm knitting is really easy once you get the hang of it. My blanket looked nice (although holey) at first. The problem is that the large holes and multiple strands create an irreparable mess if even one loop snags and is pulled out of position. This also means your tension must be kept exact, or you risk the same problem. I had one loop that got too tight. Trying to open it tightened the next, and so on. By the time I gave up trying to fix it, I had a bunch of wadded up stitches in one section and a large hole. This might work better with that really thick specialty yarn, but with 6 strands of super bulky it was a bust for me.

I have arm knitted scarves and I wanted to try a blanket. The instructions were good and it should work up fast. It will be a light weight blanket, yet be warm. That is a great combination. I think I will try different yarns just like I did with the scarves. Thank you for the video.

It looks like I'm not the only one who hasn't tried arm knitting but would like to. Since I have trouble with my arms and shoulders sometimes, I hesitate to get into it, but this is so tempting. I'd love to snuggle up in a blanket like that when the snow falls! If anyone has done it, please let us know how it went.

I really fancy having a go at making this blanket as it looks so thick and comfy. Has anyone completed this? Is it easy to arm knit? I also suffer from arthritis in my wrist and right elbow joint, I wonder if this will be a problem, has anyone who has a similar issue tried arm knitting and if so do you experience any pain related issues?

This blanket looks SO COZY and I just love the texture! I havent ever done any arm knitting. I keep meaning to and then something else comes up and so it goes. This stunning blanket has convinced me that this is definitely the time for me to do it and this is the perfect item to knit. The pattern looks easy to follow too so here goes. Ill post a pic of my blanket when Ive finished it!

This cosy looking blanket draws one in just to snuggle in with a hot mug of chocolate. I have never tried this technique but it inspires me to give it a bash. A new year with new goal settings. Yes you have guessed it this is one of my goals this year..arm knitting. Who is in with me on this challenge. Keep me informed how you are coming along. Let's go girls...

Honestly, if you have never tried arm knitting, you have to give it a go! I knit myself an infinity scarf using this technique and I was so pleased with it! I can't wait to sit down and arm knit myself a blanket. I'm not sure if I will be able to do it in an hour, as the pattern suggests, but I'm sure it will be a quick project to finish nonetheless. One thing to remember when browsing for yarn for an arm knitting project is to look for something really bulky and super soft (it will be rubbing on your arms the entire time!) I also found that it was best to make sure I wouldn't have to be getting up to answer the phone or the door, as the project is hanging off of your arm. I can't wait to give this one a try.

Did you make this blanket? Was it easy and did it take only one hour? I'm curious about arm knitting, too, and this pattern is so easy - four steps! Please upload a photo of your finished blanket for us to see, if you have one, thanks.
