I've never made a dishcloth like this one before and I am anxious to give it a try. I like that there is a tutorial that I can watch if I get myself in trouble with the pattern. I'm also thinking that I want to try adapting this pattern to make one that is a little thicker so that I could use one as a hot pad.

I am so going to do this for myself! I am running low on washcloths and haven't been motivated to buy any maybe this is why. I can just see a pile of them in the washcloth basket, adding color and flair to my bathroom. (Heaven knows it needs it.) I still have odds and ends of cotton yarn left, but what a great excuse to buy more.

I made this washcloth in a pink and white self-striping cotton yarn and it came out really nice. Once you do the first point or two you get the hang of it and just keep going around until you finish, so it actually works up quickly. My only tip would be to cast on loosely and bind off loosely so it doesn't pull. I gave the dishcloth to my mom with some handcrafted rose-scented soap for Mother's Day and she loved it!

fantastic.
