Knitting Needle Size17 or 12.75 mm, Circular Knitting Needles

Yarn Weight(5) Bulky/Chunky (12-15 stitches for 4 inches)

Gauge2 stitches & 4 rows = 1" (blocked staggered rib)

Get as close as you can to the gauge - because the yarn is bulky, it will be difficult to be exact on a large needle.

Finished Size26” circumference x 9” height

  • Zen Yarn Garden Superfine Bulky (90% superfine superwash, 10% nylon; 55 yds per skein), Approx. 110 yds (2 skeins), Colourways shown: M: Robust Splatter, C1: Robust
  • US 17 circular needles or size to obtain gauge
  • Tapestry needle

Instructions

Cowl

With M, CO 52 sts using cable cast on method. For first row, join in the round being careful not to twist stitches.
R1: k2, p2 (13 times)
R2: p2, k2 (13 times)
Repeat R1-2 seven more times.
Change to C1.
R9: k2, p2 (13 times)
R10: p2, k2 (13 times)
Repeat R9-10 seven more times.
Bind off. Block. Wear proudly!

This cowl is so easy and yet looks anything but. I like the fact that it uses two skeins of contrasting yarn. You can make a matching hat or two different hats to match one yarn or the other. I like to be coordinated so this is perfect for me. I like Zen Garden yarn as well. Thank you.
