Looking for a light and airy knit cowl that shows off a variegated yarn? Look no further than the Crooked Creek Cowl. This miracle of a knit cowl pattern require just one skein of yarn and only a bit of your time. What makes this knit cowl pattern really pop is the gorgeous zigzag lace trellis stitch. The beauty of using this stitch in a cowl pattern like this is that it allows all the variations in the yarn to shine without getting lost in the folds of yarn. The Crooked Creek Cowl is a beautiful neutral that is sure to become a new wardrobe staple this season.

From what I've seen from this designer, she designs some really cute cowls. This one is just as cute and I love the cable pattern she used. Cables can be a pain, but I think the challenging nature makes them more fun to work up. I think this would look nice in a solid color and the fact that it only uses one skein of yarn is another plus.

Someday I shall count the number of cowl patterns I have saved to knit as gifts for myself and others - this one is casual/smart for that person who doesn't want to make a decision as to which to wear with what with jacket and jeans or dressy sweater and suit for work... that touch of class - I know exactly who will get this one this Christmas
