23 Knit Toys for Girls and Boys

The preferred gift over sweaters, every time

Knit Toys for Girls and Boys

The preferred gift over sweaters, everytime

Most people own at least one solid knit scarf, but very few little kids have a knitted toy elephant sitting at their bedside table. Knit toy patterns have become increasingly popular over the last few years, a ton of patterns have been popping up all over the web! It's not just the patterns though, the knit toy style itself is also getting more attention from corporations and the general public.

You can check out any home-decor store with a kid's room section or any baby registry and you'll see tons of manufactured knit toys. Who wouldn't like them though? They're soft, made to last year after year, and they have that classic hand-me-down look that'll be appreciated generations down the line. Of course, knit toys are much more technically complicated than a washcloth or a scarf. It takes skill, patience, and love to make, but that is precisely why these toys are appreciated so much!

These are toy patterns specifically made for the little girl or boy in your life. However, this list is most certainly not restrictive. Your little girl might really like the alligators and your little boy might want a tray of cupcakes to play house with! There are even a few pet toys that'll make the family dog or cat really feel loved. The point of these toys is to make someone happy, and to give your needles something new to try! So what are you waiting for?

Knit Toy Patterns for Girls

Have a little one in your life with doll clothes all over her playroom floor and a bad habit of sleeping uncomfortably with her hard plastic Barbies? Make their favorite doll a dress in their favorite colors, or replace their Barbie with a more cuddle-friendly knit counterpart. These knit toy patterns are so cute, she'll want to give them to her own child in the future!

Knit Toy Patterns for Boys

Dinos, monkeys, and monsters--oh my! Here are some knit toy patterns for the rough-and-tumble tykes in your life! These toys are handmade to withstand a bit of rough handling and make hours of entertainment for the more imaginative child in your life. A cuddly monster is just as cuddly as a doll after all.

For the Furry Ones

Toys aren't just for humans! Maybe you don't know anybody with a baby shower coming up, but you just might have a little furry friend who would much rather have a hand-knit toy instead of those awkward paw booties. Knit your pooch a brand new ball or get your cats some knit catnip sacks.
