I have started this pattern several times and always give up on row 2 because I have extra stitches on the end and do not know where they came from or what to do with them. I count and recount and am following the pattern exactly is the pattern supposed to stop in the middle of the repeat from ?

The lacy pattern on this stole gives it a very dressy look. I like the fall colors of the variegated yarn used to knit this stole but would like to knit it using plain black or white yarn to wear it for formal nights out. Has anyone tried knitting it in a single color?

What is meant by the ssk in this context (even rows 2-12)? "end last repeat ssk instead of sl 1, k2tog, psso"

I did this pattern with this yarn and it turned out GEORGOUS!!!! I get a lot of great comments on it!!! Everyone should try this pattern, fun and easy.
