i made this -- just split the stitches on 1 needle (separate yarn) and kept knitting - so my rows stayed in sync.

Really easy to make but you do need a stitch holder as you seperate the sections for the twist (you could thread it onto waste yarn but I prefer a solid holder) As they are mostly garter stitch they are really easy and knit quite quickly. It is pefect for my daughter to keep her hair out of the way when she is putting on her makeup for dance shows and competitions and for keeping hair out the way when removing it. It does not require a great amount of yarn so you can use up some from your stash and it is easy to adjust the length when knitting for smaller / larger heads.

This is such a classy knit headband! I really like the mid-band twist, it I don't just so chic! I really think that this is a great starter pattern for learning about splitting your knitting. I have a large yarn stash that was looking for a great pair at teen like this! I will be knitting up a few of these Eva S games fits for coworkers over the holidays! I'm sure that they'll love them

This is such a sophisticated looking headband. I like that it's knit on large needles with chunky yarn because I can finish one (or more) in an evening or over the weekend. And although not a cable, it's good practice for split knitting. I can see buying a skein of more expensive yarn for this project as a splurge. The pattern doesn't say how much yarn is needed, though, so I'd buy two skeins of the same dye lot just in case.
