Knitting Needle Size17 or 12.75 mm, Circular Knitting Needles

Yarn Weight(5) Bulky/Chunky (12-15 stitches for 4 inches)

Gauge2 stitches & 4 rows = 1” (blocked ribbing). Get as close as you can to the gauge – because the yarn is bulky, it will be difficult to be exact on a large needle.

Finished Size20” circumference x 8.5” height

  • Zen Yarn Garden Superfine Bulky (90% superfine superwash, 10% nylon; 55 yds per skein) Approx. 50 yds (1 skein) Colourway shown: Robust Splatter
  • US 17 circular needles Or size to obtain gauge
  • Tapestry Needle

Instructions

CO 40 sts using cable cast on method. For first row, join in the round being careful not to twist stitches.
R1: k2, p2 (10 5mes)
Repeat R1 a total of 11 times
R13: Knit
Repeat R13 a total of 11 times

Crown

R25: *k7, cdd* to end of round (4 times total)
R26 and remaining wrong side rows: knit
R27: *k5, cdd* to end of round (4 times total)
R29: *k3, cdd* to end of round (4 times total)
R31: *k1, cdd* to end of round (4 times total)

Finishing

Cut yarn, leaving a 6-8” tail. With a tapestry needle, thread the yarn tail through the remaining sts. Tighten to finish. Weave in ends, block and wear proudly!
