Breezy Baby Blanket

(15 Votes)

Learning how to knit a blanket is incredibly rewarding, especially when you're making a blanket for a new born baby. This Breezy Baby Blanket is made with light cotton, making it the perfect summer gift for upcoming baby showers. Not only is this pattern as light as air, but it also stretches nicely, making it a cinch to swaddle baby at night time.

Szpek a sznei is!

I love this pattern. I expanded it to make a 48" x 50" blanket. I turned out beautifully. It not only looked beautiful, it feels beautiful. The 'waves' or 'holes' add a wonderful dimension and creates a lovely cover on those cooler evenings - and as a shawl. Gorgeous. Thanks for the great pattern. I will use it again.

was hoping for some insite for the baby blanket. do you find the holes too big for a newborn. i love the yarn.

How do I print this pattern. Thanks.

For the colors and amount of yarn required to make this blanket, go to and click on yarn kits from the menu running down the left-hand page of the site. :-) this feature is gonna cost me $$$!

I've done this baby blanket in the pickles yarn. The momma wanted it crib size. I had to order 3 of each (3) colors for a total of 9 skeins to make a crib size. using the pickles yarn it got a bit expensive but was well worth it - the yarn is wonderful to work with and very soft. If you go on the pickles site there is a link that says "the free pattern can be found here" I do have a .pdf that I don't know how to attach.. If you send me your email I can send it to you. put in the subject - request for baby blanket.

what are the dimensions of the blanket?

Is there a pdf available, or ny way to print the pattern without all the comments?

I love this pattern and want to make it for a throw in the colors shown, can you tell me what they are? It is hard to tell from the Pickles yarn on line. I would also like to make this pattern in a larger afghan, any suggestions on how much yarn would be needed. Also, the pattern states 300g of yarn, is that total or per color? Thanks, Joy

Love this design; think I would reserve it for an ADULT lap blanket or summer throw. There has been much discussion lately of little ones tangling fingers in openwork such as that shown here; a knitting forum I visit recently posted a comment from a knitter who had just returned from the hospital where her neighbor's child had to have a finger amputated as it had been entangled in a woven garment and lost circulation. Better safe than sorry. I do love this design.

just started this blanket for my #11 grand in 9 yrs. i was wondering about the big holes also. do you have a safer suggestion for this wonderful yarn.

The instructions are not in English so they are useless to me. Any translation available?

trying to print the pattern for the Breezy Baby Blanket-I am logged in, but when I click on "click here for knitting pattern" I get an Internet Explorer error? Anyone else having this problem?

How do I get the answer to my questions? Joy H
