This simple knitted cowl pattern makes an excellent gift. Using just one skein of yarn five decorative buttons, this cowl can easily be completed in two nights or less of knitting. Knit one in your friend's favorite color, just in time for the holidays. Pair this classic cowl with a stylish hat and overcoat for the perfect winter look. You'll love wearing this cowl so much, you (almost) won't want winter to end.

Half way thru this pattern and it is turning out terrific. I think it is pretty easy just following the instructions one by one and not trying to guess works for me. Thanks for the pattern!

The pattern is actually called " buttons cowl" I think she did a fine job of explaining the pattern!! All cable abbreviations are included in the pattern & there very simple! This cowl was exactly what I was looking for! It reminds me of the 1st cardigan I attempted to knit. My advice Is to read the directions, as a newbie I like to highlight special instruction like how she has you do the buttonholes on row 6 and then on every 12th row there after! What a beautiful pattern for free!! "Easy" doesn't mean the same as "beginner"!!! I love cables, I put them in everything I can but I could def see how a non cable knitter would be a little intimidated but what experience you'd gain!!! Thank You for giving this pattern for free!!

i tried knitting the "easy buttons cowl" and it was anything but. pattern was very poorly written and confusing. i even took the pattern to a local knitting shop and they had a hard time deciphering them. just saying. this should not be called easy.
