Yarn Weight(5) Bulky/Chunky (12-15 stitches for 4 inches)

Gauge1 stitches, 2 rows, 3 inches. stockinette stitch

Materials:

  • Patons® Classic Wool Bulky™ (3.5 oz/100 g; 78 yds/71 m) Gold (89610) - 2 balls
  • Size U.S. 13 (9 mm) circular knitting needle 24" [60 cm] long or size needed to obtain gauge
  • Cable needle
  • Stitch marker

GAUGE: 11 sts and 15 rows = 4" [10 cm] in stocking st.

Measurements: Approx 9½" [24 cm] high x 29" [73.5 cm] around

Abbreviations:
Approx = Approximately
C8B = Slip next 4 stitches onto cable needle and leave at back of work. K4, then K4 from cable needle
K = Knit
K1below = Knit next stitch 1 row below, at same time, slipping off stitch above
K2tog = Knit next 2 stitches together.
M1P = Make 1 stitch by picking up horizontal loop lying before next stitch and purling into back of loop
P = Purl
P2tog = Purl next 2 stitches together
Rep = Repeat
Rnd(s) = Round(s)
RS = Right side
St(s) = Stitch(es)


Instructions:
Cast on 84 sts loosely. Join in rnd, placing a marker on first st.
1st rnd: Purl.
2nd rnd: *P1. K1below. Rep from * around.
3rd and 4th rnds: As 1st and 2nd rnds.
5th rnd: P7. *M1P. P14. Rep from * to last 7 sts. M1P. P7. 90 sts.
6th rnd: P1. K1below. *P1. K8. (P1. K1below) 3 times. Rep from * to last 13 sts. P1. K8. (P1. K1below) twice.
7th rnd: P3. *P4. K4. P7. Rep from * to last 12 sts. P4. K4. P4.
8th to 15th rnds: Rep 6th and 7th rnds 4 times more.
16th rnd: P1. K1below. *P1. C8B. (P1. K1below) 3 times. Rep from * to last 13 sts. P1. C8B. (P1. K1below) twice.
