Oh thank you so much. I was asked to make a baby hat for a friends new grand baby. I didn't have anything but complicated feminine ones. Then I saw this. Not only will it work for a boy but it's easy to boot! You just saved me from disappointing a friend.

This is a sweet little hat, and easy to make. I like the garter stitch around the bottom to keep the bottom from rolling up. The button is cute but I would be more inclined to use something soft, like an applique or felt button, or at least a sew-through button so the button shank wouldn't press on the baby's head. Just my two cents.

The choice of colors in this hat is excellent though I am sure that there are many other wonderful combinations to explore. Have any of you knit this little hat? If so, it would be great if you shared photos to inspire the rest of us. The addition of the button is adorable, but make sure you double sew it to the hat to keep it in place.

This is such a classic looking pattern, it reminds me of Baby Gap, it will make such a cute baby shower gift!
